Hi I’m Emma, and I have a constant curiosity with the human voice and the amazing things it can achieve – seeing and hearing the joy of students voices evolve is the best perk of the job.
My singing journey has been varied starting with individual singing lessons using Bel Canto style techniques, followed by Musical Theatre training informed by Estill through to my current experience accessing a broad view of vocal pedagogy having completed a research based MA with the Voice Study Centre. The vocal pedagogy I use in my studio recognises the physical and psychological influences of our experiences of singing and learning to sing with ease, expression and emotion.
I am regularly adding to my CPD to keep my knowledge up to date with evidence based techniques. ensuring that I implement best practices in lessons so that students remain vocally fit and healthy. I work using growth mindset tools and positivity to help my students achieve their goals, to continue to strive and deepen their experience of singing.

Testimonials
“Emma is an excellent teacher who has been able to bring out the creative spirit in my daughter and enable her to understand music and develop into an excellent musician.”

“Emma is an expert and really goes above and beyond to understand the needs of her pupils. Her approach is compassionate and nonjudgmental and she ensures the lessons are tailored to suit the singer in the best possible way. Absolutely recommend Emma to anyone who wants to ensure they’re singing using the best techniques in a supportive and knowledgeable place.”

“Emma’s vocal coaching has been a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting lessons – from beginners to professionals. Emma’s inspirational approach and teaching methods have given me the confidence to explore my voice – increasing my ability and challenging me to access a wider range and control of my voice comfortably and safely. I noticed the impact of Emma’s knowledge and techniques from my first lesson. The lessons are fun, relaxed and informative – working on technical ability whilst learning my favourite songs.”
George Webb – musician
“Emma is a technically experienced teacher who helped and continuously helps our children going through their singing exams. Besides the basics of teaching on technical singing, Emma also is a very empathic person. She knows how to connect with our children to motivate and guide them, giving them broader life lessons in the context of music. We can highly recommend Emma, and she will continue working with our children for the foreseeable future.”

“I went to Emma after having constant throat issues after singing (ulcers down the throat and all sorts). After listening to me sing, she explained the technique I was using was causing more strain than needed. She worked through various methods with me and not only did I find my throat issues stopped, but my voice became better and stronger. I really cannot express how impressive Emma is. She really knows her art. I’m taking a break at the moment but I do plan on returning to her for lessons because other than the advantages I’ve explained, her lessons are fun and relaxing.”

“Emma Jane has been coaching my daughter for singing, both vocal and technical for several years. Aside from the coaching, she has been instrumental mentoring her vocal development, by applying typical 1-on-1 mentoring techniques and principles she has also acted as a role model in aligning her personal goals with her musical goals and using those skills to enable Madeline to understand the cross connection. Under Emma Jane’s guidance as a vocal coach, my daughter has grown in confidence, improved not only her vocal range, but has seen her developing her songwriters’ skills too, mostly popular style songs.”

“Emma is a brilliant teacher who puts you at ease from the very first lesson, she has given me the confidence I needed to be able to sing in public and enjoy it. Lessons with her are always fun and constructive. Emma is an inspirational vocal coach.
I had always enjoyed singing, but I never had the confidence to sing in front of anyone and wasn’t sure if I ever would. My first big step was to start singing lessons with Emma and eventually through these, and the confidence it gave me, I joined a musical theatre group.
Emma is a great teacher who instantly puts you at ease, she is very patient, and her knowledge of the voice is amazing. My confidence has really grown over the years, and I have learnt so much about what my own voice is capable of.
Emma has been my singing teacher for number of years and during that time I feel that my range, clarity, vocal stamina, recovery time and confidence have all improved greatly.“
